If you want to try diving, but know nothing about it, the diving baptism is a great way to do it. You can observe the diversity and beauty of the seabed with only goggles and a snorkel. It is a wonderful way to enjoy the unique conditions of the waters in the Azores. Water temperatures are usually around 19ºC, visibility is excellent and the fauna is rich and varied. Have you ever imagined doing an archaeological dive inside ships from the 17th century?
Azorean cuisine has a long tradition. Taste the finest meat from animals raised in lush pasturelands, and freshly caught fish and seafood you can find nowhere else. There is a huge range of sweets and pastries that vary from island to island. Azorean cheeses have become world famous. Imagine enjoying a delicious meal cooked under the ground, by the natural heat of the earth.
The Azores have great potential for golfing, thanks to the safety and tranquillity of the islands and their wonderful environment. There are 18- and 24-hole golf courses, in the heart of nature, combining sport with relaxation.
You can climb Pico Mountain, the highest point in Portugal, with an altitude of 2350 metres, and see one of the most beautiful landscapes ever. You can begin the climb before dawn so that you can witness the sunrise, or in the evening to watch the setting sun, or you can spend the night in a tent on the top of the mountain. Have you ever imagined sleeping inside the crater of a volcano?
